Many remember a time when they would find eggs in their backyard, bring them into the house, and then dye them different colors. It’s a fun tradition but when it comes to food, they are still just eggs. So instead of having ordinary eggs how enjoying some Easter Egg Truffles? These candies are made from rich, smooth white chocolate and can be flavored using the extract of your choice.
Carrot Cake Trifle
This idea comes from the blog “Family Fresh Meals”. A typical trifle has layers of cubed sponge cake, custard, and fruit and since this is Easter, they decided to make it with carrot cake. You really can’t go wrong in this dish. Some use fresh fruit; others use raisins in their carrot cake in addition to the carrots.
Sugar Cookie Cutouts
Roll out the dough and hand out the cookie cutters. Both kids and adults will enjoy cutting out cookies and decorating them however they wish. Don’t forget the best part which is eventually eating your masterpieces (heads first of course). For Easter we suggest getting cookie cutters in the shape of rabbits, lambs and chicks.
Carrot and Zucchini Bars
Our next idea comes from “Better Homes and Gardens”. In fact, they were in the inspiration for this article. One of their suggestions for Easter was a healthy alternative to the sugary desserts. These bars are just 125 calories per serving and that includes the creamy citrus frosting.
